Punching Myth and The Truth
Many accidental injury happen by punching a bag, a pair of pads or whatever it is you feel like discharge your wrath upon. This is normally caused by not utilising appropriate punching techniques. There’s a lot of misconceptions about how to throw away the appropriate punch.

Punching Myth 1
It’s adequate that I just form a ball (or a rock) with my fist and knock as strong as I can.
The Punching Truth 1
Forming your hand into a fist does not inevitably mean that it will be as hard as a rock and that you will be using the appropriate punching technique. Beating as hard as you can is a sure way to hurt your hands and wrists.
Punching Myth 2
It doesn’t count whether your fist hits the mark in a vertical or horizontal placement.
The Punching Truth 2
Holding your fist in a vertical position meant that it will generate little power. For twisting around the wrist and forearm anticlockwise, into a horizontal placement, produces a torque. In effect, you are going to screw your target area.

I will produce more damage the speedier I snap my punches.

I know some of you believe about the Law of Inertia can be implemented to punching. Yes and no, for deterrent example, a bullet can only do some damage when fired off a gun because of its acceleration that it travels so fast. But that doesn’t mean that the faster you punch the bigger the damage. This is only accurate when you do not snap your punches, you got to follow through with. Equivalent with the bullet, it goes in a straight line without “retracting” like a snap as it follows through its target.
